Everholm

A gorgeous, open-ended cozy farming RPG whose central mystery hook — why does everyone on this island know you, and where is your missing sister — draws players in and then goes conspicuously quiet, leaving a well-crafted farm sim without the narrative payoff its own setup promises.

Fisher's Idle

A cheap, genuinely relaxing idle fishing-fleet game from a solo developer who patched launch-week bugs within days and kept supporting it for a year and a half, let down by thin long-term depth and achievement targets several players call artificially padded.

GARDEN&BIRD

A small, unanimously well-liked decorating sandbox where birds bring seeds and gifts to slowly fill an island with plants and decorations, backed by a genuinely sustained run of seasonal content updates and a warm, consistent English review record.

Graveyard Keeper

A medieval cemetery sim with a tech tree the size of a small factory game and a sense of humour about corpse disposal. Also the only game I've reviewed where a player says they finished it out of hatred — and where the community's fix is a mod list that removes the walking.

HARVESTELLA

Square Enix marketed this as a life-sim farming game and its own review corpus -- praise and criticism alike -- spent four years correcting the record. It's a JRPG with farming on the side, and knowing that before buying changes almost everything about how the game lands.

House Flipper

The comfort-game renovation sim that made cleaning and decorating genuinely satisfying — weighed down by a progress-erasing bug reviewers have reported for years and a sprawling paid DLC ecosystem that locks most of the game's achievements behind it.

Idle Colony

A fruit-merging incremental that wears its debt to Gnorp Apologue openly and executes the formula well enough to earn Very Positive reviews, undercut mainly by a name that promises more hands-off progress than the game is actually willing to give.

Idle Fishing

A free-to-play boat-and-crew idler with 1,215 Steam achievements and a genuinely active two-year patch history, undercut by a store-page AI Generated Content Disclosure and a bolt-on excavation system that its own achievement data shows almost nobody finishes.

Idle Miner Tycoon

Kolibri Games' decade-old mobile idle didn't just popularise the miner-elevator-warehouse loop, it more or less invented the template every mining incremental since has copied. Ten years and a Ubisoft acquisition later, the loop still works — the monetisation menu and the interface built on top of it are where the wear shows.

Island Beekeeper

Raise bees on floating islands, crossbreed them for traits, and rebuild a supply of honey for a dying Earth. A lovely, meditative idea shipped without an Early Access label straight into a week of blocking bugs — and patched fast enough that its Steam rating has been climbing ever since.

Joyquarium

A big-number aquarium idler that genuinely earns its Idler tag — fry-pack gacha, a quadrillion-scale currency and a decoration economy with real payoffs — but its own audience keeps calling it a Chillquarium copy, and the saltwater half has sat unfinished since mid-2025.

Leaf it Alone

A solo developer's yard-cleanup incremental turns raking leaves into a genuine tool-upgrade power fantasy — reviewed for whether a two-hour runtime and a single backyard are worth the Overwhelmingly Positive reputation, or just too little game for the price of admission.

Lemonade Apocalypse

A free, game-jam-born satirical incremental about escalating a lemonade stand into a factory, a skyscraper and eventually the climate itself, genuinely charming for its short one-sitting runtime but held back for most of its life by real bugs the solo developer has only recently and decisively fixed.

Lumberjacked

A NZ$7.39 first-person forest-chopping incremental from Inner Realm Studios and Dumb Duck Games — 680 Steam reviews at 82.5% positive, checked against a full pull of every English negative review and the game's own achievement-completion curve, both of which land on the same structural complaint: a strong first two hours, then a wall.
