What we collect
Account information
You can play as a guest or sign in with Google. If you sign in with Google we receive your Google account identifier and email address, which we use to attach your save to you. We never see your Google password. Guest accounts are identified by a device token.
Gameplay data
We store what the game needs to be a game: your character name, position, skills, levels, hit points, inventory and equipment, coins, buildings, progress markers, and similar game-state. Public parts of this (your name, level, distance travelled) appear in-game to other players — in the world, on leaderboards, and in chat if you use it. Chat messages are stored so the chat has history.
Device and app data
Standard technical basics: the game client reports its version and user-agent when it connects (so we can debug problems on specific devices). The Android and iOS apps wrap the same game and use their platform services for sign-in, optional advertising, and purchases.
Logs and diagnostics
Our servers keep standard access and error logs, which include IP addresses, request paths and timestamps. We use them to keep the service running, investigate abuse, and fix bugs. They rotate out automatically on a short schedule.
Advertising (mobile apps)
The mobile apps may show optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may process your device's advertising ID and related signals to serve and measure ads; this is governed by Google's privacy policy. Watching these ads is always optional. The website version of the game does not currently include third-party advertising; if we add it (for example Google AdSense), this policy will be updated first.
Supporter subscriptions
If you buy Wanderer Supporter, Apple, Google, or Stripe processes the payment. We do not receive your card details. We store the store/provider name, an opaque transaction or subscription identifier, status, renewal/expiry date, and an opaque game-account token so the supporter entitlement can be verified and restored to the correct character.
Why we use this data
- To run the game: save your progress, sync it across devices, resolve offline progress.
- To keep it fair and safe: rate limiting, abuse and cheat prevention.
- To fix problems: crash and error diagnostics.
- To show optional rewarded ads in the mobile apps.
- To verify, restore, and manage optional supporter subscriptions.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for marketing profiles.
How long we keep it
Game accounts and saves are kept while the account is active. Server logs rotate on a short schedule (weeks, not years). Backups expire on a rolling basis. If you delete your account, see below.
Deleting your account
You can request deletion of your account and game data at any time — see the Delete Account page for exactly how, and what is removed.
Children
Wanderer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
Traffic to and from the game is encrypted (HTTPS). Game data lives on a server with restricted access. Sign-in is delegated to Google, so we never handle your password. No online service can promise perfect security, but we keep the attack surface small.
Changes to this policy
If the policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page and its date. Significant changes will be flagged in-game.
