Community Guidelines

Wanderer's chat is a shared campfire on a long road. These rules exist so everyone can sit at it.

The spirit

Be the person other players are glad walked into town. Help the new arrival, congratulate the record, take the argument to a better place. Everything below is just this, itemised.

The rules

  1. No harassment. Don't target people — not for their play style, their pace, their mistakes, or who they are. Persistent unwanted attention counts.
  2. No hate. Slurs and hateful content of any kind end the conversation immediately, and usually the account's access to chat.
  3. Keep it broadly all-ages. People play Wanderer on the bus and at the kitchen table. No explicit content, in text or in names.
  4. No spam or advertising. Repetition, flooding, referral links, crypto — no. Sharing your Wanderer video or guide is fine and welcome.
  5. No cheating talk that helps cheating. Discussing game mechanics is the point of chat; distributing exploits, bots or account-trading is not.
  6. Names follow the same rules. A name that would break the rules in chat breaks them on a character sheet too.
  7. Don't impersonate the developer, moderators, or other players.

How moderation works

Chat is filtered automatically for the obvious things, with human review behind it. Depending on severity, consequences run from a removed message, to a chat mute, to account suspension for serious or repeated abuse (see the terms). Moderation calls aim to be boring, consistent and explainable; if you think one got it wrong, use the contact form and a human will look.

Reporting

If someone is making the road worse, report it — through the contact form or in the Discord. Include the character name and roughly when it happened. You won't be named to the person you reported.
