The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Fifteen years on, Skyrim's open world is still the reason people play it — walk in any direction and something is there. The systems underneath that world, from swordplay to loot to the dialogue tree, have aged a lot less gracefully, and Bethesda has spent a decade finding new ways to resell the same game. Reviewed as Skyrim Special Edition, the version Steam actually sells you today.

The Last Clockwinder

A VR automation puzzle game built around a genuinely novel idea — recording your own physical actions to spawn clones that repeat them forever — wrapped in a warmly written, well-voiced story, held back only by a short runtime and clone-reliability quirks reviewers describe in specific detail.

UNDERDOGS

A VR-only mech-punching roguelite that reviewers routinely call one of the best physics games the headset has, praised for locomotion so smooth it solves VR's usual nausea problem — reviewed here as a genuinely mature release, since Steam's own patch history shows it's still being actively expanded two and a half years after launch, multiplayer included.

Escape Simulator 2 Review: A Confident Sequel With One Infamous Flaw

Pine Studio's co-op puzzle sequel earns near-unanimous praise for its bigger rooms, sharper art, and improved VR support, but a genuinely divisive final puzzle and recurring multiplayer sync bugs keep it from being flawless.

Colony 19 Review: A Free VR Climb Worth Every Cent It Doesn't Cost

A student-made VR horror climbing game built around a genuinely huge dystopian megastructure, Colony 19 delivers atmosphere and scale that punch well above its free price tag, even with rough edges around its movement and a few missing conveniences.

Maestro

A VR-exclusive rhythm game that puts a symphonic orchestra in front of you and hands you the baton, tracking real conducting gestures instead of Beat Saber-style slashing, earning real praise for its novelty and even qualified respect from actual conductors, tempered by widespread hardware-compatibility problems and a monetization model that locks much of its most popular music behind paid DLC.

Subside

A genuinely stunning VR free-diving and snorkeling simulator that experienced divers and casual VR owners alike describe as one of the most convincing underwater experiences available, held back for a real share of players by a thin, exploration-only gameplay loop that wears thin faster than the visuals do.

A VR-Only Wasteland From a Studio That Knows the Genre D.E.C.A.Y. is a VR-exclusive survival shooter that casts you as the operator of a remote bunker in a scorched, post-apocalypt

Zenith: Nexus

A VR-only MMO that launched to real excitement and $35 million in funding, then had its developer cease content work in 2024 and fold what paying customers bought into a free mode -- verified against press coverage, not just the review corpus that says the same thing.

Best Forklift Operator

A genuinely charming, VR-capable forklift job simulator that real forklift operators are split on for authenticity, undercut by specific VR bugs, restrictive controls, and a racing-wheel support claim reviewers say didn't hold up to testing.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City

A VR open-world beat-em-up whose parkour movement and genuine TMNT fan service earn real praise, undermined by broken grip controls on Index headsets, a small and lifeless open-world hub, shallow repetitive combat, and a co-op multiplayer system reviewers say only works via private room codes rather than public matchmaking.

War of Wizards

A VR spell-dueling MOBA with a genuinely inventive draw-your-own-spell mechanic, undercut by an unmoderated young player base, real pay-to-win complaints, and a serious, specific reviewer allegation that the Steam version is deliberately denied purchases the Meta store version gets.
