Thornmere Fen

Raised paths cross a black-water fen where lanterns mark the only honest ground.

Recommended level: roughly 90–112. Monster strength in Wanderer rises steadily with distance east, so the west edge of a region is always gentler than its east edge.

The region

Lantern country. Thornmere Fen is crossed on raised board-paths above black water, with crow-lanterns marking the only safe lines. The stilt town of Thornmere is small but complete, and the drowned shrine and sunken bell reward wanderers who leave the boards — briefly, and carefully.

Stay on the paths at low health. The fen's ambushers specialise in catching travellers mid-crossing where retreat means a swim.

Settlements

Towns are safe ground — hostile creatures will not follow you past the boundary.

Getting here

Thornmere Fen sits east of Greymill Crossing, with Old Veyr beyond its far border. Teleport scrolls (sold at Wanderer's Rest, 1,000 coins) can return you instantly to any town you have already discovered, which makes the first walk through a region the only slow one.
