The Sundering Field

The old empire’s army fell here in a single day. The trenches and siege wrecks remain.

Recommended level: roughly 179–210. Monster strength in Wanderer rises steadily with distance east, so the west edge of a region is always gentler than its east edge.

The region

The empire's army fell here in a single day, and the region is the battlefield, preserved: trench lines, the Sword of the Fallen standing point-down on the horizon, and Reclaimers' Foothold picking through the wreckage. Encounters lean heavily into the martial — dead soldiery that remembers its drill.

For smiths, the Foothold camp and Gravedigger's forge west of here bracket some of the best late-ore country in the game.

Settlements

Towns are safe ground — hostile creatures will not follow you past the boundary.

Landmarks

  • The Sword of the Fallen — A colossal blade driven into the earth marks where the line broke.
  • The Long Trench — The old front line: stakes, wrecked engines and unclaimed banners.

Getting here

The Sundering Field sits east of The Glasswind Reach, with The Eldenwood beyond its far border. Teleport scrolls (sold at Wanderer's Rest, 1,000 coins) can return you instantly to any town you have already discovered, which makes the first walk through a region the only slow one.
