Sporewood

A grove of giant mushrooms and glowing spores, farmed by the mycologists of Glimmercap Hollow.

Recommended level: roughly 155–180. Monster strength in Wanderer rises steadily with distance east, so the west edge of a region is always gentler than its east edge.

The region

A forest where the trees are mushrooms and the light comes up from the ground. Glimmercap Hollow farms the spores; the elder cap and the spore ring are the region's landmarks and both look like nowhere else in the game. The Sporewood's creatures poison and confuse rather than bludgeon.

It is also simply beautiful. If you're going to walk a stretch of the frontier for the sake of walking it, walk this one at night.

Settlements

Towns are safe ground — hostile creatures will not follow you past the boundary.

Getting here

Sporewood sits east of The Gilded Vale, with The Shattered Coast beyond its far border. Teleport scrolls (sold at Wanderer's Rest, 1,000 coins) can return you instantly to any town you have already discovered, which makes the first walk through a region the only slow one.
