The Shattered Coast

Sea cliffs, salt spray and shipwrecks; the old empire’s fleet died on these rocks.

Recommended level: roughly 162–190. Monster strength in Wanderer rises steadily with distance east, so the west edge of a region is always gentler than its east edge.

The region

The Shattered Coast is where the old empire's fleet died, and the cliffs still wear the wrecks. Saltwatch fishing village clings on above the spray; the Dawnbreaker wreck and the salt light are the two great sights; leviathan ribs arch over the beach like cathedral vaults. Combat here mixes coastal wildlife with what crawled out of the wrecks.

The coast marks the start of Wanderer's late game — bands in the 160–190 range and drop tables to match.

Landmarks

  • Wreck of the Dawnbreaker — The flagship of the old fleet, broken-backed on the rocks below the cliff.
  • The Salt Light — A ruined lighthouse on the point; its fire has been cold for a century.

Getting here

The Shattered Coast sits east of Sporewood, with The Glasswind Reach beyond its far border. Teleport scrolls (sold at Wanderer's Rest, 1,000 coins) can return you instantly to any town you have already discovered, which makes the first walk through a region the only slow one.
