Patch Notes: Everything New Since 15 July

Development Diaries 2 min read

A lot has shipped since the 15 July update — some of it announced in the moment, some of it quietly slipped in. Here's the whole run in one place, newest first.

Gathering & the forge

  • Double Swing (mining). A chance to swing twice in one tick; a better pickaxe and a higher Mining level make it fire more often.
  • Bonus bars (smelting). A successful pour can throw a second bar for free — better tongs raise the odds.
  • Higher-rarity forged gear. Forged pieces can come out Refined → Rare → Epic → Relic by chance; forge above a recipe's level with a good smith hammer to improve your odds.
  • Forge tools. Smelting now needs tongs and forging needs a smith hammer — Bronze→Celestial ladders that also raise your success rate, with about half your materials salvaged on a failed craft.
  • Loot rebalance. Boss drops are now a chance rather than guaranteed, and the very top rarities are rarer at high level.

Getting around

  • Manual is now the default way to travel. Start still and tap to walk (tap a foe to attack), instead of automatically wandering east.
  • Your travel mode is remembered. Explore, Hunt, Mining, Smithing — and now Manual too — stick across restarts and reloads.

New places to explore

  • Caves arrived. The first underground system — Waykeeper's Hollow — opens off the road.
  • A second cave. The Understory, beneath Hollowbrook — behind a locked door and its single-use key.
  • A more alive world. Daily bounty boards and interactive spots across 18 towns and waystations.
  • 80+ monsters redesigned with fresh, bespoke art.
  • Hollowbrook rebuilt to the current town standard.

Presentation & polish

  • Opening cinematic. A 73-second intro sets the scene for new wanderers.
  • Full translations. Simplified Chinese, Spanish and French are now complete.
  • Offline gathering XP is shown. The away summary now lists the XP you earned per skill.
  • Phone performance. A frame-rate cap and low-power rendering options cut heat and battery drain, alongside server stability and speed work.

Community & support

  • Moderation tools. Warnings, mutes and auto-escalation, enforced across game chat and Discord.
  • Supporter subscription (web). Back the game for $2.99/month.
  • Cosmetic slots. New hat and cape slots — stat-free, purely for how you look.

For the deep dives, the Mining and Smithing guides carry the full tables, and the changelog keeps the permanent history. Happy wandering.
