Three years and eight patches after launch, Larian's D&D epic is still the reference point for what "your choices matter" is supposed to mean — and its two real weaknesses, a lopsided third act and a ruleset that rewards system mastery over roleplay, haven't gone anywhere either.

Divine Divinity

Larian Studios' 2002 breakthrough action-RPG, the founding entry of the franchise that eventually led to Divinity Original Sin and, indirectly, Baldur's Gate 3, remains a genuinely ambitious open world — but a real, well-corroborated pattern of crashes and save-file loss on modern PCs is a serious risk worth understanding before investing dozens of hours.
