The Blightmarrow

The wound that killed the empire. The land here is openly wrong; the wardfires hold a thin line.

Recommended level: roughly 223–258. Monster strength in Wanderer rises steadily with distance east, so the west edge of a region is always gentler than its east edge.

The region

The wound that killed the empire, still open. The Blightmarrow is openly wrong — warded cairns hold the worst of it back, Wardfire Bastion quarantines the road, and the marrow wound itself is the kind of place you visit once, carefully. This is deliberately the corridor's horror stretch.

The Bastion's forge and store exist because nobody wants to linger; use them the same way.

Settlements

Towns are safe ground — hostile creatures will not follow you past the boundary.

Landmarks

  • The Marrow Wound — The centre of the corruption. The ground does not heal here.
  • The Warded Cairns — Rune-cut cairns raised by the Bastion to pin the blight in place.

Getting here

The Blightmarrow sits east of Veyrath, the Fallen Capital, with Gloamspire Pass beyond its far border. Teleport scrolls (sold at Wanderer's Rest, 1,000 coins) can return you instantly to any town you have already discovered, which makes the first walk through a region the only slow one.
