Mewgenics

A cat-breeding turn-based tactics roguelite from Binding of Isaac creator Edmund McMillen, nearly a decade in the making — deep, absurd and genuinely inventive enough to draw comparisons to Darkest Dungeon and Sid Meier in the same breath, with real, persistent complaints about breeding tedium and interface friction that a major mid-2026 patch only partly resolved.

The End Is Nigh

The End Is Nigh sends a small, sad blob named Ash through hundreds of brutal precision platforming levels in a decaying post-apocalyptic world, from Super Meat Boy co-creator Edmund McMillen. Its level design and dark tone earn genuine praise, while a specific, recurring complaint about a finite-lives second chapter and a lack of meaningful long-term reward keep it from a clean sweep.
