Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura

Troika Games' 2001 steampunk-fantasy CRPG is still cited by its own fans as one of the most reactive RPGs ever written — and this review's reading of its current Steam sample found that reputation intact, sitting next to a genuine, ongoing technical problem the 2016 Steam re-listing never fixed: the unmodified original build still crashes or corrupts saves on modern Windows unless you install a fan patch first.
